Meet the boys

HAMISH

Workshop Legend

Hamish finished school, went to Uni for six months, but has ended up at Gardner Cars six months later in a full-time position. Obviously, Uni was not for him. “It’s not for everyone Hamish!” What is for him, according to Hamish is 4-wheel driving, fishing, and going out on the water, be it jet skiing and boating. Life experience!

BEN

Workshop Manager

Ben has a background in all aspects of Motorsport Supercars, GT Racing, Carrera Cup, Speedway and Drag Racing. Ben has loved working on cars since he was a young lad.

His involvement in the automotive industry started from the family car business when Ben was a little boy – to his first job as an Apprentice at the Porsche Centre Gold Coast. This is where he earned his apprenticeship in just three years. Since then Ben has worked on all automotive, trucking, marine and racing jobs.

Ben’s passion for working on all cars, bikes, trucks, and love of race cars including his own Drag Car – and now watching his six-year-old son race and work on his motorcycle.

DAVE

The Top Boss

Modifying cars started at an early age in Christchurch, New Zealand.  Dave’s Father Gary and Grandad Jack opened Gardner Cars in 1985. Dave’s school holidays were spent down at the yard washing cars to save for his very first vehicle, a 1979 Toyota Corolla. This was pulled apart several times including the engine, with Dave spending hours in the garage, “I must have done every modification possible”.

This passion lead to several other modified vehicles including competitive drift car racing.

Moving to the Gold Coast in 2009 the passion continued in opening Gardner Cars again with Gary (Dad) building the business from one vehicle to well over 100 today that are synonymous with 4X4 adventure and performance.

Dave has two beautiful young boys with partner Brittany that are also mad about cars. “I’m sure with the core values that Gardner Cars believe in: Integrity, Fun, Respect, People and Passion – we will see the fourth generation of Gardners continuing to enjoy the motor industry”.
